Easy / Beginner Game
You'll need 20 or more Meglapod cards to play this game. It can be played with 2 to 4 players. The objective of the game is to win all the cards.
(The ideal number of cards to play the game with is 30 cards, but you can play the game with 20 to 40 cards.)
1. Take all the cards and shuffle them.
2. Going around in a circle, give one card, face-down, to each player. Keep giving each player a card until all the cards are finished.
3. From their top card, the youngest player reads the stat from their card that they think is the strongest. Stats can be called from Attack, Defence, Height and Weight.
4. All the other players read the same stat from their top card.
5. The player with the top number for that stat wins all the cards and adds them to the bottom of their pile.
6. It is then the winning player's chance to call out the stat that they think is the most powerful from their top card.
7. If 2 players have the same top stat, all the cards get put in the middle. The same player calls out their top stat and the person who wins the round takes the middle cards as well.
8. The game continues until one player has all the cards.

Advanced Game (No Planets)
You'll need 60 Meglapod cards and 1 set of tokens to play this game.
This is a 2 player game.
The objective of the game is to defeat all the other player's Defence cards.
General Rules:
Stage 1 cards can be put down directly on the table, Stage 2 cards are placed on Stage 1 cards and Stage 3 cards are placed on Stage 2 cards. Stage 4 cards are placed on Stage 3 cards,
Players pick up one card from their pack at the beginning of their round.
It costs 2 tokens to pick up additional cards from the pack.
A player can use more tokens than they have, until they reach zero tokens. This means that if a player has 1 token and the card they want to play has a Cost of 4, they give the other player their 1 token plus 3 from the "bank." At that point they have zero tokens. (If a player has used all their tokens, they cannot make any further moves and they cannot take tokens from the "bank.")
Players can attack the other player's Defence card with cards from any Stage. Obviously, the higher the stage, the higher the attack. So, in most cases, you'll want to attack with a Stage 3 card.
Instructions:
1. Create 2 packs of 30 cards. A good starting point is to have 10 of each stage in a pack. (i.e. 10 x Stage 1, 10 x Stage 2, 10 x Stage 3.)
2. Each player takes a pack and shuffles their cards. The cards must be kept face-down.
3. Each player takes 5 cards from the top of their pack and puts them in a row in front of them. These are the player's Defence cards.
4. Each player draws 5 cards from the top of their pile and keep them in their hands. These cards can be looked at.
5. One of the players chooses purple or green and the other player flips a token. If the first player chose correctly they start, otherwise the other player starts.
6. The starting player gets 3 tokens to start with.
7. The player picks up a card from their pack and adds it to their hand. If the player has a Stage 1 card, they can put that down on the table. If there is a Cost for playing that card, the player gives that amount of tokens to the other player. If the player has a Stage 2 card, they can put that on top of the Stage 1 card. If they have a Stage 3 card, they can then put that on top of the Stage 2 card.) If the player has no cards to play (e.g. they have no Stage 1 cards,) they can pick up a card from their pack for a cost of 2 tokens.
The player's turn ends on the move that they make that uses their final token(s).
8. At any stage, until they have played their last token, a player can attack the other player's Defence cards. Defence cards are attacked in order. Either left to right or top to bottom. The player points to their card on the table that they wish to attack with. The ATTACK on their card is their attack strength. The other player turns over their Defence card.
a. If the defending player's DEFENCE is lower than the attacking player's ATTACK, the defending player puts that Defence card in a new pile called their Burn pile.
b. If the defending player's DEFENCE is higher than the attacking player's ATTACK, the attacking player loses their entire pile. (i.e. If they have attacked with a Stage 3, they lose their Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 of that pile.) These cards go into the attacking player's Burn pile. The defending player then puts that Defence card at the bottom of their pack and select a new card, face down and adds it to their Defence cards,
c. If the ATTACK and DEFENCE are the same, the attacking player loses their attacking card and the defending player loses their Defence card.
9. The game continues until all of one of the player's Defence cards are Burnt.
